In 1987, audiologist Charles Haynes opened his own hearing aid practice in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was driven by a guiding set of principles: integrity, honesty, and doing the right thing for his patients. The Hearing Center soon earned a reputation as a trustworthy, reliable, friendly place for people with hearing loss to find solutions and get the most out of their lives. Charles was later joined by his son Chas, who loved working alongside his father.
Now, Charles has retired and Chas has stepped into his father’s shoes as the owner and operator of The Hearing Center. Chas continues to run the practice the same way his father did, by providing patients with honest care and always doing the right thing. We are extremely proud to help the residents of Orangeburg with their hearing and we are so grateful our patients continue to return to us for their hearing care.
At The Hearing Center, we have decades of experience supporting patients through every step of their hearing journeys. In some cases we’ve been seeing the same patients for as long as we’ve been open because they trust us to have their best interest in mind. No matter what you need, The Hearing Center is here to help you hear better. We are an independent practice, offering a wide range of hearing aids from every manufacturer so we can offer more selection to our patients. Unlike other practices who are only focused on making a sale, we will continue to offer our help and support even after you’ve bought a hearing aid. We want you to feel comfortable coming in for help with your hearing aids whenever you need it. That’s why we don’t charge for office-visits.
We are proud to call the great state of South Carolina our home. From grits to peaches and mountains to beaches, the Palmetto State is in our heart. We love the people, the scenery, the food, and sometimes even the weather! We believe in a friendly, small town way of life and treat everyone like they’re family. We are happy to say that with our Orangeburg location we serve patients from all of these fine cities and towns in South Carolina: Columbia, Cayce, West Columbia, Lexington, Chapin, Blythewood, Irmo, Camden, Orangeburg, St. Matthews, North, Bamberg, Santee, Manning, St. George, and Barnwell.
Hearing is a crucial way in which we experience life. When you choose someone to help you with your hearing, you need to know that you’ll be taken care of no matter what. We welcome you to bring your hearing aids in at any point when we’re open, and we will never charge you for our time. Whether you just need your hearing aids cleaned or something needs to be tweaked in the programming, we want to help you; because it’s the right thing to do.
